There really is so much news to write about! If I had the time, and if I thought you had the inclination, Dear Reader, I would write an article every day from now until we were on the other side of this barrage. But for now, here is a reading on how I see the Supreme Court deciding the presidential immunity issue. I could give some preamble, but….why? Here we go:
I decided I would use the Tower as my significator, or focus card, to stand for the Court. You see it at the center of the top horizontal line. It is the only horizontal line I read in this spread, but you are free to look at the other horizontals to assess whether they can add more information. As a rule, I find doing that to be merely confirmatory of the spread as it is meant to be read. The line with the Tower tends to act as a summary of the full reading:
Scythe / Fox / Tower / Older Man / Key
The decision (Scythe) is tricky (Fox) and should not be taken at face value. There is a calculatedness (as there is to every Supreme Court decision, of course) which is meant to serve as a kind of deception of the populace. The Older Man stands for both Thomas and Alito, who will go along with things for appearances sake. The Key indicates that the decision may well be a unanimous one. In this line, the Scythe mirrors the Key: the decision is seen as pivotal. Well, of course it is. Lol. Fox mirrors Older Man, which indicates there are “wheels within wheels” here, echoing the idea that deception of the public is operative here.
Next, we move over to the left and look at the first vertical line for some background on this decision:
Scythe / Child / Coffin / Whip
This decision (Scythe) really marks new territory (Child) because it has not been a question before the Court previously. Granted, Nixon TRIED to make the case for blanket presidential immunity, but back then, everyone was in agreement about what a specious claim that was. We are living under different circumstances today. (Coffin) implies that really this should be a moot point; why is it even at issue? But the (Whip) indicates there have been arguments amongst the Justices as to whether or not that is true. (Scythe) mirrors (Whip): the arguments back and forth have been difficult and even ugly. (Child) mirrors (Coffin, )indicating some of the arguments have been petty and perhaps ad hominem (Child) and everything is being kept behind closed doors and held very close to the vest(Coffin.) God forbid the nature and tenor of the discussions see the light of day!
The next vertical line gives us more background about the decision process:
Fox / Fish / Birds / Bouquet
The particularly egregious behavior on the part of Thomas and Alito in general makes them the (Fox.) They are both financially motivated and bound to right wing entities who have an interest in this decision. On the other hand, the word on the street (Birds) about them is that they are both unsuited to the Court. They need to throw the public a bone (Bouquet.)
The center line tells us where the Court is currently:
Tower / Young Woman / Letter / Ring
The Court (Tower) will want to seem less draconian, more reasonable (Young Woman) than current decisions would have us believe them to be. The (Letter) refers to the decision they will hand down, and the (Ring) speaks to a kind of passing of the buck, a decision that does not, in fact, settle the question once and for all. It will be revisited.
The fourth vertical line speaks to what will happen:
Older Man / Younger Man / Garden / Scales
The Court, including the two worst reprobates among them, (Older Man) will want to appear at once wise and assertive (Younger Man) in the eyes of the public (Garden.) The (Scales) card,my own addition to the Lenormand, is the card for the cost/benefit analysis the Court must engage in. (Older Man) mirrors (Scales,) indicating that even Alito and Thomas understand how critical it is that a good call is made from the perspective of the public. Whether they admit it out loud or not, every branch of government, including theirs, serves at the pleasure of the public. The wrong call here could meet with the kind of displeasure that topples governments. Think Russia. Think France. The (Younger Man) mirrors (Garden.) The Court is aware that the public is watching.
The fifth vertical is: Key / Bear / Moon / Cross
To answer this moment, someone or something will have to be sacrificed. The majority of the Court may be all in for 45, but not at their own expense. That is where they will draw the line. The answer (Key) to this dilemma is found in the mirroring of that card with (Cross.) Someone will be sacrificed (Cross) for the sake of the Court’s continued standing. The mirroring of (Bear,) which represents 45, with (Moon) indicate that 45’s claim will be denied in a unanimous decision, thus further damaging his already tattered (34 felonies, hello?) image (Moon.) At worst, the decision will be kicked back down to a lower court, which would, in effect, buy 45 more time. I don’t think that will happen. No one can be PERCEIVED to be above the law, in the eyes of the Court. Of course, many, including the Justices, are above the law in practice, but this is all about smoke and mirrors and sleight of hand: 45 must be sacrificed for the sake of public perception.
Our postscript today is:
Clouds / Clover / Mice
I read it as a caveat for the public who has had doubts(Clouds) about the integrity of the Court. Be happy for this victory, of course. But after the champagne toast and the high five (Clover) don’t get things twisted: there is still much to be concerned about in regard to the Court. (Clouds) and (Mice) mirror each other. A little of our doubt will have been dispelled, but that will be short-lived (Clover.) The Court is still a majority rogue one, and this is the same thrown bone as the decision today on mifepristone: short-term and stop-gap. This Court has big plans, and none of them are good. Do not be lulled by the seeming good deeds done by (Fox)es. Celebrate the small battles, for sure, but know that war on all the fronts remains still in the wind.
Amen and Ase
it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see them kick it down to a lower court. Stupid really, as no one has total immunity.
The cards speak truth, plain and simple. If each of the justices could read your post, I trust they’d each see accuracy in your words.
